Waiting for the right person God has for you

February 14, 2017

I have been learning in my life that waiting for the guy or girl God has for you is really important. And to not just to give your heart to anyone who might take interest in you. If you are single right now, like me, we know it is really close to Valentine's day. This holiday is where everyone thinks it is all about relationships and having a boyfriend/girlfriend and Hollywood really makes that the main focus. But it doesn't have to be. I have learned a lot about relationships. I would like to share this one story with you guys.

I was once in a relationship where I was a christian and he was not. There is a verse that says "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14. Of course this can be very different for lots of people. I'm just saying what happened with me. Being in this kind of relationship for me was not good for my well being. I was also ignoring God in this relationship, sad to say. Long story short, something happened where I knew it was God calling me to end this relationship. I basically had no choice, and I knew it was for the best. Because I think it was tearing us both down. For the next few weeks after it ended it was really hard for me as most breakups are with everyone. But as time went on I started to feel so much more happier, I felt like a chain was broken and I was free. I felt a joy I haven't felt in a while. Also, I felt closer with God again. Do you know the verse Isaiah 66:9? "I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be reborn?". Well, as time went on I got to go on a trip to Egypt, Israel and Jerusalem. I felt that was God's way showing his love back to me after being hurt because that's who God is. He is a good Father to us, He wants to be a good father to us. He hates seeing his children hurt or disobeying him. He wants the very best for us.

Then after a while God took the desire out of me of wanting to date and have a boyfriend for a while. Because

1. I knew he wanted me to focus on just him and get things right with God again

2.He had to heal a lot in my heart and make me new again

3. To work on creating me into the woman of God he has destined me to be

It's amazing how much God can do. If you are waiting for the right person God has for you, take this example and WAIT for them. It will be completely worth it. There may be some distractions on the way of course but make sure you really discern and know if that's who God wants you to be with. He created a person for each one of us that will complete us. For me, even if I have to be single the rest of my life I will be fine with that because I don't want to get hurt again and I only want to be with the right Godly guy God has for me....Who will, you know, bring out the best in me. My hope is the same for you.
