Becoming the Best Version of Yourself....even with a Disability

We all have something that we are good at or that we are not good at,right? Lately, I have been finding techniques and ways to deal with some stuff in my life. If you have a disability like me, we all get to a place in our lives where we don't know what to do. We may sometimes get frustrated about how some things in our life are going. We may not understand why there are some things in our life we can't do. When you get to that sort of place in your life, that is where self-discipline comes in. I have been working on disciplining myself with the help of God along the way. Because "With God all things are possible" Matthew 19:26.

I have set goals for my life. You should too. If you don't have any idea where to start or how to get better at some of the things that you may struggle with, set goals for yourself. For example, if you can't drive right now and one day really want too, you can always work your way up towards that. It doesn't have to be right now, but you can tell yourself "one day I am going to reach this goal or that goal". So do some research on that goal, and practice (with someone else who knows how to do what you're trying to learn). You may be scared to do some of these things. Maybe it is driving or you may want to get into college someday and get a degree. Maybe the time is not right now, but set a goal for yourself. Say to yourself "One day I will do this" and reassure yourself and reach up towards that. Take one step at a time. It does not have to be rushed. Not at all. Reaching goals takes time and effort.

I know we all struggle with one thing or another and it can be frustrating. However, you CAN get to a better place than you are right now. I just know it, how? Because with God's help and with God's grace He can help you to become a better and stronger version of yourself than you are right now. That is what He is helping me to do. I am trying to keep myself disciplined because sometimes you just need to do that in order to accomplish something. For example, you may have a hard time getting to sleep on time so you get tired of that happening so you schedule a specific time where you wine down and go to sleep. Maybe you have a hard time with organizing (Being honest, I do! LOL) so when you have to pick up something in your room tell yourself to do it and just find a way around that to actually do it. Don't put it off. There are lots of things I want to do and accomplish in my life, just as everyone does. In order to accomplish something we have to work on it. Practice makes perfect, right? You have to believe in yourself that you can do these things, it is easy to get frustrated believe me, I know. But guess who else believes in you? God does. He knows that you are strong, and that you are capable of anything. With faith, you can do anything. Nothing is too hard for God.

So what you could do is to try and get better is...

1. Write down some goals and share with someone you trust

2.Once you master one goal move on to the next

3.Be flexible because God might have something different or even better in store for you

Don't get frustrated about the things you can't do right now. Maybe you are just not ready to take that step right now but eventually you really can get to the point where you and where God wants you to be. That is for certain.

However, keep an open mind to what God may have planned for you. His paths for us may be different than what we have dreamed of. His plans are bigger than what we can imagine.
